Unique screenings of Vera Krichevskaya's film "Close" and discussions in German cities and Vienna

Special screenings in Germany and Vienna! Radio Echo invites viewers to a series of exclusive screenings of the documentary "The Closer", created by the talented director Vera Krichevskaya. This is a profound and poignant film study of the last months of the life of Dmitry Zimin, a legendary Russian engineer, founder of the telecommunications giant Vimpelcom and a well-known philanthropist. Screenings and discussions will take place in Berlin, Hamburg, Düsseldorf and Vienna.

The movie "Close" goes beyond biography, weaving together Zimin's personal story with key events of the 20th century in Russia, becoming a multifaceted family saga. The viewer witnesses his final journey at the age of 88, accompanied by his close friend and former business partner, American Augie Fabel, a Chicago police officer. It is through Augie's eyes that we see a century-long cross-section of Russian history, where Dmitry Zimin is not only a participant, but also a key character. Through the prism of his perception we see Dmitry Zimin off on his final journey to a Swiss clinic.

The film "Close" has already gained recognition on the international stage, having received the Special Jury Prize at the prestigious Thessaloniki International Film Festival and at the documentary film festival "ArtDocFest" in Riga in March 2025.

Don't miss the unique opportunity to see this significant film in your city and take part in an exclusive discussion after the screening. Director Vera Krichevskaya will personally answer questions from the audience, share her thoughts and talk about the process of creating the film. Famous journalist Maxim Kurnikov will moderate the discussion.
