The musical and poetic program “To Be Happy” invites the audience to a special evening dedicated to the work of Marina Tsvetaeva. The program features the poet’s early lyrics, poems, prose, and songs based on her works, all filled with vivid emotions, sincerity, and a sense of happiness.
The highlight of the evening is a live performance by Maryana Polteva, a theater and film actress and graduate of Oleg Tabakov’s acting workshop. Her expressive and emotional style of performance allows the audience to hear Tsvetaeva’s familiar lines in a new light and to feel their personal, almost intimate tone. This program is about love, joy, memories, and those moments in life that we want to cherish forever.
The musical atmosphere is created by Nikolai Yavir—a talented musician and composer, and lead singer of the legendary band “Festival.” His music and songs set to Marina Tsvetaeva’s poems organically complement the actors’ performances, transforming the evening into a sincere dialogue with the audience.
“To Be Happy” is not a traditional literary evening, but an emotional journey into Tsvetaeva’s world, where poems are recited from the stage, music enhances their mood, and the audience’s personal feelings become part of the experience.
