In the fall of 2026, Ilya Kolmanovsky will give a lecture titled “The Brain + Artificial Intelligence: A Guide to Living Together” in Cologne, Stuttgart, and Munich — a popular science discussion on how people, thinking, and everyday life are changing in the age of neural networks and artificial intelligence. The lecture is intended for an adult audience and will be held in Russian.
Today, we’re learning to formulate prompts for neural networks, receive advice from virtual assistants, and delegate more and more intellectual tasks to algorithms. However, the process works both ways: artificial intelligence studies us, adapts to our habits, and our brains gradually adapt to interacting with AI. In his lecture, Kolmanovsky will explore what is actually happening between the human brain and neural networks—and how to learn to live with this awareness.
The discussion will focus on questions that are currently on the minds of scientists around the world: Will humans become both smarter and more dependent on AI? What will be left for humans if algorithms take over complex decision-making? why artificial intelligence is capable of drawing conclusions that it cannot always explain; and what unique human abilities remain beyond the reach of machines.
Ilya Kolmanovsky is a Candidate of Biological Sciences, a science journalist, the author of popular science books, the host of the “Goly Zemlepok” podcast, and a regular lecturer for the educational project “Pryamaya Rech.” His lectures are known for combining modern science, real-life examples, and open dialogue with the audience.
The event will last approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes. Recommended age: 16+.
