"Heute Zwischen Gestern und Morgen" is a profound story about memory, forced emigration, the search for one’s identity, and hope for a new future. At the heart of the story is the encounter between two characters who were forced to leave their homeland. Their conversation becomes a reflection on loss, identity, and life between the past and the future.

The performance will be in German.

In this production, classic German chanson pieces and political satire from the 1920s are organically interwoven with contemporary themes of war, forced displacement, and new beginnings. The music and lyrics by Hans Eisler, Kurt Tucholsky, Friedrich Hollander, and Erich Kästner take on a new resonance, creating an emotional dialogue between history and the present day.

The production combines dramatic theater, live music, and vocal performances, blending tragedy with subtle humor, historical memory with current events. This is an intimate production that offers the audience not only an emotional experience but also an opportunity to reflect on the human condition in an era of change.

The play was written by Anastasia Weinmar and Ilya Khodyrev. Anastasia Weinmar and Ilya Khodyrev are responsible for the direction, acting, and vocal performances. The musical director is Andrei Dyakov (piano).

The production’s technical team includes sound engineer Anton Varaksin, lighting designer Tina Kowalski, and set designers Alla Karitsina and Alex Kondratyev. Project photographer: Andrei Kezzin. Poster and trailer design: Denis Epifantsev.
