The musical one-woman show “This Is Me: Edith Piaf” — the vivid story of the great singer, performed in Russian

The musical one-woman show “This Is Me: Edith Piaf” is a heartfelt theatrical production dedicated to the life and work of the legendary French singer. The show is performed in Russian and features songs from Édith Piaf’s repertoire, performed live by actress and singer Anastasia Weinmar.

The project combines elements of dramatic theater and a concert performance, creating an atmosphere of complete immersion in the life of an artist who became a symbol of 20th-century French music. The audience experiences not just a concert featuring well-known songs, but a complete artistic portrayal of a woman whose life was filled with passion, pain, struggle, and unconditional love.

During her lifetime, Édith Piaf was called “the soul of the French nation.” After her death, she became an icon of global musical culture. Her songs are still performed on the world’s finest stages and resonate with audiences of all generations. Having started her career on the streets of Paris, Piaf managed to rise from a street singer to a legend of the world stage. When asked about the meaning of life, she answered simply: “Love—what else?”

Nina Mazur’s play was created by graduates of the St. Petersburg Theater Academy.
