An evening with animator and director Garry Bardin in Berlin

"Echo" invites you to a screening of films by animator and director Garry Bardin. On April 2, four of Bardin's works will be presented in Berlin, including the premiere of the animated film Crying for All Time. After the screening, the author will take part in a discussion via teleconference, moderated by Maxim Kurnikov.

The evening in Berlin will present the following films:

  • "Listening to Beethoven" (2015), an animated film about the triumph and greatness of freedom.
  • "Bolero-17" (2018) - a picture about the choice between freedom and unfreedom.
  • "Hail, Mary!" (2023) - a story about fidelity to self, told to the music of Schubert.
  • Premiere: "Lament for All Time" (2025) - a movie about the Jewish people who "live in spite."

Garry Bardeen is a multi-award-winning animator, screenwriter and producer recognized with numerous awards, including the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. He is known for his innovative approach to animation, utilizing materials such as plasticine, wire, paper, matches and other unconventional elements. Among his famous works are "Flying Ship", "Vykrutasy", "Conflict" and "Adagio".

The screening will be followed by a discussion with the director. Visitors will have the opportunity to ask questions.
