Political Scientist Ekaterina Shulman: "Constitutional Projects of the Decembrists


In July, Hamburg will host a lecture by Ekaterina Shulman, one of the most quoted political scientists of our time, named the most inspiring person in the 40-55 age group in a 2020 Levada Center poll.


The political scientist has been called an Internet phenomenon, and her lectures are often cited. Among her admirers are both liberal-minded young people, for whom she is a philosophical reference point, and older people, who note the "calming" manner of her speeches.


Ekaterina Shulman is a political scientist, journalist and expert in political science who specializes in lawmaking. Before leaving Russia in 2022 she was Associate Professor at the Political and Legal Studies Department of the Moscow Higher School of Social and Economic Sciences. Since January 2023, Ekaterina Shulman has been a professor at M. Narikbayev KAZGJU in Astana, Kazakhstan.


For her anti-war remarks in April 2022, the political scientist was recognized as a foreign agent.


The theme of Ekaterina Shulman's lecture is "The Decembrists' Constitutional Projects. The lecture will be moderated by Maxim Kurnikov, former deputy editor in chief of the Ekho Moskvy radio station, and current head of the Ekho Internet publication. During the second part of the event, guests will be able to ask questions.
