Written by Tchaikovsky in 1892, The Nutcracker immediately won the love of the public. Hoffmann's famous fairy tale "The Nutcracker and the Mouse King", told in the plastic language of classical ballet has won the hearts of audiences of all ages. Vivid, unusual and retaining its innovative charm to this day, the score is rightly considered Tchaikovsky's most popular work written for the ballet stage.
The action takes place on Christmas night, at a ball in a rich and hospitable house. The host's daughter Marie receives a wooden nutcracker as a gift. As the plot develops, the protagonist turns from an ordinary girl into a little princess to experience all the spooky and wonderful adventures that the fairy tale prepares for her. And before returning to the real world, under a Christmas tree burning with lights, she will learn the love of a beautiful prince - the Nutcracker, whom she will help to defeat hordes of enemies.
Thanks to the dancers of the "Classical Ballet", the audience enters a marvelous fairytale world where toys come to life, hordes of armed mice retreat under the onslaught of the toy army, and in the end Good and Love triumph.
