On October 11 at the Kongresshaus Zürich, audiences can look forward to the legendary ballet *Carmen*, set to the music of Georges Bizet and performed by one of Italy’s most renowned ballet companies—Balletto di Milano.

The production is based on Prosper Mérimée’s famous novella and brings to life on stage one of the most dramatic stories in world literature and musical theater. The two-act ballet is set to the timeless music of Georges Bizet. The production was choreographed by Agnese Omodei Sale and Federico Veratti, with set design by Marco Pesta.

The ballet tells the story of the beautiful and independent gypsy Carmen, whose unbridled thirst for freedom leads to tragic consequences. At the heart of the plot is a fateful love triangle between Carmen, Don José, and the famous bullfighter Escamillo.

The production explores profound human emotions—love, jealousy, passion, freedom of choice, and the inevitability of fate. The final tragedy serves as the emotional climax of the performance, leaving a lasting impression on the audience.

The company features leading artists who graduated from the legendary La Scala Academy and other prestigious international dance schools. Their technique, artistry, and expressiveness make every performance a true event in the world of ballet.

The production combines the classical traditions of European ballet with a contemporary take on this timeless masterpiece, offering audiences a vibrant, emotional, and visually stunning theatrical experience.
