Boombox

Boombox is a Ukrainian band formed in Kyiv in 2004. Its founders include vocalist Andriy Khlyvnyuk, guitarist Andriy Samoylo and DJ Valentyn Matiyuk. Released in 2005, the debut album “Меломанія” introduced a combination of guitar textures, rhythmic experimentation and expressive vocals that became the foundation of the band’s musical identity.

Boombox’s music brings together funk, hip-hop, rock and soul. Supple grooves and melodic guitar lines support songs about love, closeness, separation and inner emotions. Khlyvnyuk moves between melodic singing and speech-like delivery, giving the lyrics an intimate, conversational tone. Both the quieter compositions and the energetic tracks retain the feeling of a personal story told directly to the listener.
