On October 7 and 8, 2026, the Wiener Stadthalle in Vienna will host performances of the ballet “Two Carpets”—a large-scale production by the Mosaic Del Arte company, performed by the Astana Ballet.

The performance is based on the legend of the Shirvan carpet, which is now housed in the Louvre. According to an ancient tradition, a mother passes down the art of weaving to her daughter, and each new pattern becomes a unique page in her life—a memory of events, people, love, loss, and time.

“Two Carpets” combines drama, choreography, music, set design, and visual art, transforming the story of the carpet into a grand theatrical narrative about memory, heritage, and the connection between generations.

The leading roles are performed by artists with international professional experience:

Tatiana Ten as Leila—a former principal dancer with the Capitole de Toulouse ballet and a graduate of La Scala in Milan.

Sundet Sultanov, who plays the role of Samir, is a laureate of the international Benois de la Danse Prize, one of the most prestigious professional awards in the world of ballet.

Natalia Fernández Menes dances the role of Margot. A prima ballerina with an international career, she is a graduate of the Joffrey Ballet School in New York.

Students from the Astana Academy of Choreography will also join the professional company on stage, making the production not only an international cultural project but also a space for professional collaboration between different generations of artists.
