“Two on a Seesaw” is a poignant theatrical story about the encounter between two completely different people who turn out to be, for each other, at once a salvation, a trial, and an opportunity to start a new life.
The production is based on the famous play by American playwright William Gibson, which premiered on Broadway and has since become a classic of world theater. It is a subtle and heartfelt story about love, loneliness, trust, and the difficult search for mutual understanding.
The two protagonists are people with different pasts, personalities, and outlooks on life. They meet at a time when each of them is in particular need of support and human warmth. Their relationship unfolds like the motion of a swing: from closeness to distance, from hope to doubt, from happiness to the fear of losing one another.
The play explores universal questions about human relationships: Can we change another person? How capable are we of trusting others? And what happens when fate unexpectedly brings two completely different worlds together?
The leading roles are played by Tetyana Shlyakhova, Honored Artist of Ukraine and an actress at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater, and Oleksiy Zubkov, Honored Artist of Ukraine and an actor at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater.
The play is directed by Tetyana Arkushenko, an Honored Artist of Ukraine.
