Berlin will host the presentation of Sergei Aleksashenko's new book "Chance. America - Russia: Window of Opportunity"

On February 28 in Berlin "Echo" will organize the presentation of a new book by the famous economist Sergei Aleksashenko "Chance. America - Russia: Window of Opportunity". In his new work, the author asks why the attempt to transform Russia in the 1990s was unsuccessful and led to the establishment of a rigid authoritarian government.

The book "Chance. America - Russia: Window of Opportunity" covers the period 1990-1995, which largely determined the future course of Russian and world history. The author explores why Western countries, and primarily the United States, did not offer Russia help and did not decide to involve it in their economic and political orbit, as happened with Germany and Japan after World War II.

The presentation of the book will be of interest to all those interested in the history of Russia, its relations with the West, as well as the economic and political processes that took place in the world at the end of the 20th century.

During the event it will be possible to buy the book and get the author's autograph.

The meeting will be moderated by journalist Maxim Kurnikov.

The event will be held in Russian.
