Rachmaninoff: “One Soul—Two Pianos”

Kirill Keduk and Artem Yasinsky will present a concert program dedicated to the music of Sergei Rachmaninoff. Two concert grand pianos, two brilliant pianists, and the music of one of the most emotional and recognizable composers of the 20th century—ranging from intimate lyricism to dramatic power and rapid, virtuosic passages.

Kirill Keduk made his debut as a soloist at the age of ten, performing with the National Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra of Belarus. Among his achievements are first prize and the Audience Choice Award at the prestigious Kissinger KlavierOlymp. The pianist has performed at Steinway Hall in New York, the Pierre Boulez Saal in Berlin, and on stages in Tokyo.

Artem Yasinsky is a laureate of the Sydney International Piano Competition and a gold medalist at the Cincinnati World Piano Competition. His international concert career includes performances at Carnegie Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic, and the Laeiszhalle in Hamburg. Today, the pianist also teaches at the University of the Arts in Bremen.

In the first part of the concert, the musicians will explore Rachmaninoff’s solo repertoire—preludes, études, and character pieces that reveal the subtlest nuances of his musical language. In the second part, two grand pianos will come together to perform Suite No. 2 for Two Pianos, Op. 17—one of Rachmaninoff’s most ambitious works for piano duet.
