"Punk Movies" is hard punk rock with scathing, politically charged lyrics that do not leave indifferent. Unlike many punk bands, the band adheres to the principles of a healthy lifestyle. This approach makes them similar to the Western hardcore bands of the 1980s, who combined uncompromising musical aggression with a conscious life stance.
The permanent leader of the band since its foundation is Vladimir Kotlyarov. The musician was born and grew up in Dubna near Moscow, where he created the band in 2008.
The name of the band is not only a challenge, but also a well-thought-out marketing move. When Kotlyarov heard about the closure of the studio that was producing adult films, he decided to choose a name that was a vivid reflection of the provocative essence of punk rock. "Punk Movies" - what could be more memorable and catchy?
