Premiere of Sergei Loznitsa's film "Two Prosecutors"

Sergei Loznitsa's new film "Two Prosecutors" (2025), a powerful historical drama based on the novel by Georgy Demidov, will be screened for the first time in Germany.

The movie is set in 1937, during the Stalinist repressions. The main character, the young prosecutor Alexander Kornev (played by Alexander Kuznetsov), strives to achieve justice in the case of an unjustly convicted man. However, faced with a system of fear, denunciations and corruption, he is faced with a choice between duty and conscience. The movie also starred Alexander Filippenko and Anatoly Bely.

The world premiere of "Two Prosecutors" took place on May 14, 2025 in the main competition program of the 78th Cannes Film Festival, where the film won the Prix François Chalet, an award given for humanistic and social expression in cinema.

After the screeningin Berlin, the audience will be able to discuss the film with the famous film critic Andrei Plakhov (the discussion will be held in Russian).

The screening will be a unique opportunity to see one of the most discussed works of the year on the big screen and personally discuss it with one of the leading Russian film critics.
